Re: Business plans for the future
Mon, September 15, 2003 - 1:21 PMWell, I'm actually already earning money with developing knowledge products and processes, so it's just a matter of scale.
Here's an example of a knowledge product that I sold for 1,000$.
research.webassistant.com
I have made similar products for 3,000 and 4,000$.
Not bad, if you take into account that it only takes hours to produce these tailor made knowledge contexts.
With our software, everyone can do this, since it's server based and you only need a browser. Basically, you can collect, process, re-contextualize in infinite ways, and share knowledge that is created just-in-time, and adapted to the client.
You can also export to informal and formal knowledge markets.
Don't think that some intelligent agent is going to do everything for you, tho. Knowledge is hard work. But using our software, what used to take years can now be done in days (e.g. writing a thesis), and what used to take days can now be done in hours - even minutes. -

Re: Business plans for the future
Tue, September 16, 2003 - 7:04 AMAhh, so it seems the real business plan comes out. And that is to sell your product that enables people to produce the "knowledge product". It would seem little more then a template based website design tool.
But what if the "knowlege product" is your real goal. If we are talking business plans, tell us more about the people you are marketing these 'products' too, and how. What supports that people are going to want a template of knowledge put together by someone with possibly little or no creditials related to the subject matter. Or is the idea to collect the info from the customer and put it into your web template? -

Re: Business plans for the future
Tue, September 16, 2003 - 10:34 AMExcellent questions.
Our approach was developed to be a cornerstone of the new, experience based knowledge economy.
(We have worked quite a few years on it, btw.)
You may want to look at this ePresentation (made with our software) about selling our knowledge products and processes:
www.webassistant.com/kp/uplo...dex.html
In summary, our clients are all professional knowledge workers: managers, researchers, trainers, cybrarians, educators, lawyers, consultants, journalists, designers, project coordinators...
The way we approach them is through value added resellers - people who know the sector, e.g. re: structured settlements, and who can develop specific knowledge flow templates, if necessary.
We want to set up a global network of seven centers, that stimulate these value added resellers in different cultures.
